Trading Challenges
A Trading Challenge is a structured exercise where you are shown a fixed set of historical candles, asked to analyze the price action, and then decide whether to open a Long or Short trade. You set your Entry, Stop Loss, Take Profit, Position Size, and Risk. Once committed, the replay reveals the remaining candles one by one until your trade hits its target, hits its stop, or the challenge ends.
After viewing the historical candles, you choose a direction (Long or Short) and define your Entry price, Stop Loss, Take Profit, Position Size, and the amount you are willing to risk. Once confirmed, the challenge replay begins and reveals the playable candles one at a time.
If the replay reaches the end of the available candles without your Take Profit or Stop Loss being triggered, the trade is closed at the final price. The outcome is recorded in your challenge history like any other completed trade.
Each challenge uses a predefined candle timeframe (for example, 15-minute or 1-hour candles). This cannot be changed because the challenge is built around a specific market session. Fixed timeframes reflect how real trading works — you trade the chart in front of you, not a customizable one.
Completed challenges are stored in your history and you can review the full details — your trade setup, the replay outcome, and your journal entry. However, you cannot retake the same challenge as the outcome is already known.
Historical Replay
Each challenge contains a segment of real historical market data. You see the first portion as a regular chart. Once you open a trade, the remaining candles are revealed one by one in sequence, simulating how the market would have evolved in real time.
To simulate the uncertainty of live markets. In real trading, you cannot see future price movement. By hiding the playable candles until you commit to a trade, ChartPlay forces you to make decisions based only on what has already happened — just like in a real trading environment.
